Lovers of traditional English home cooking will not be disappointed when visiting the Black Horse. Situated on the outskirts of Battle on a main road, it would be easy to drive straight by but a stop is more than worthwhile.
Once inside, the friendly welcome and good food make this a special place. Extreme pride is taken providing a tasty range of English classics and is renowned for homemade pies, liver and bacon, roasts and puddings. Very much a community pub, the Black Horse has a lot to offer in terms of entertainment – a skittle alley, function room for parties, buffets and wedding receptions, and a petanque court complete with petanque team. It also has its own darts team, two quiz teams and is a popular refreshment stop for walkers. The pub has ample parking, is family friendly and welcomes dogs.
What our customers say:
"Seven of us visited The Black Horse while we were staying in the area. The food and hospitality was great, the best we found in the area. Thanks very much for an enjoyable evening. " Giles
